Rimmel Traffic Stopping Shadow Review

The other day I picked up the Rimmel Traffic Stopping Shadow in '006 Sharp Turn' - the reason for this was because it was reduced, since then I have used these colours a lot, my fav of them all being the lightest one for the highlight. I have to say that I was not keen on the black, although it is very pigmented it is very hard to apply and blend, does not have the best lasting time and is also not a great colour for my eyes, I prefer a brown. The middle colour which is meant to be used as the base is not very pigmented at all which was a shame as I was looking forward to this colour, although it could be used as a highlight. The last pinky colour for the highlight is the best colour in this small palette its very easy to apply, not noticeable if you mess up the application and also that is the perfect highlight colour for my complexion.

The little applicator that comes with this product if of course again silly and useless, I really wish they wouldn't include these in palette as a brush is so much better as well as these making the palette look ugly and this one just flys around the palette and is very annoying.

These are them swatched however I had to apply a lot to make the second two noticeable, which might not be the best option to quickly apply on the eyes, for a day look. However if you are wanting to spent a while building them up on your eyes, I am sure this palette would be fine.
That is all I have for today, the weather is still amazing so it is giving me the opportunity to take a lot more pictures and to post more at this blog, I have got my benefit lipsticks ready to post as well as some shoe posts maybe. We shall see as I have a lot of products I would like the review on here, I hope everyone is having a nice summer! See you soon!!

sunny days are fun!

Wanting to get back into blogging again! The sun has been in the sky with his hat on the last couple of days, which makes me have a rather large smile on my face. Today has been spent relaxing and making chocolate chip muffins with my mum. Yesterday was spent with my brother going to the tramlines festival as well as the cinema to see 'Dark Knight Rises' which I have to say was an amazing film. I suggest you see it if you have the time.

I am wanting to get into reviewing more products as well as making sure I post the review here on the blog, so far I have had this blog quiet a while and yet I still think anyone knows that it exists.  That being said it's nice to have a little place to escape from and express my feelings, without having lots of people judging me and writing anonymous comments that are rather rude.

Weather that you have to wear sunglasses is always a good sign, as well as getting a little tan on my pale skin, which of course doesn't hurt (unless I got burnt eeek :/) saying that though my mum always makes me wear sun cream and stay protected!

Tomorrow I start my new work experience placement and on saturday I have a full day of work to do as well as I need to do a lot of work for my last year at sixth form. Which I have to say I am exited to finish and move on and go to university, meet some new people and see what else is out there.

Looking forward to going shopping this holiday and seeing a lot of friends, not going to any place special but I am sure to have a relaxing time in England. Hope everyone else has a nice holiday! See you all soon!

Mini Mac Haul! - Lipstick's

Hello there everyone! The other day I took my first trip to the M.A.C counter knowing that I would buy something! Of course I couldn't afford a lot, but as they are know for their lipsticks, I picked a couple up. A glaze and a lustre. I thought these were the best options for me and I did try a lot out. I haven't heard much about the two that I choose, maybe that drew me to them more. I was going to buy 'Creme Cup' because I've heard a lot about that, but I stopped myself and choose the ones I was drawn to and which looked good with my skin tone.

I have tried both of these lipstick's and I have to say I was impressed with the formula and how easy they were to apply. The packaging is stunning and modern with the bullet shaped case. I found that I love both of them as much as each other and this has made me want to buy more in the future. I am also trying to persuade my mum to buy herself one, as she deserves a little treat now and then!

So this is the first one that I bought. Intentionally I was looking for one I could wear on a daily basis without it being too obvious that I had a lipstick on. Therefore I had to go for a glaze! This one is called 'Pervette' it is a pink colour with purple undertones as well as a shimmer on the lips. When I applied this I instantly fell in love with the product. It looked great with my skin and also blended on the lips easily. Therefore I am very pleased with this purchase.
This is the second colour I picked up. I couldn't leave M.A.C without buying a daring colour, so instead of a red, I went for a deep dark pink, and I was so pleased that I did. I feel that this colour suits me more than a red would, even though I do like myself a good red colour on the lips. But I find this would be great on a day out somewhere, as it's not over-the-top but just a perfect colour for me.

These were the only things I purchased as these two alone went to £27 so I thought that it was enough for me to spend today. I do however in the future want to treat myself to a mac palette and fill it with neutral eye shadows so maybe you will see my buying some more from this range. I find it expensive but worth it as when applied on the lips you can tell it's not a rubbish quality product. I am very happy with what I bought and I do suggest you try some of the products from M.A.C if you are interested in make-up. That's all for now, have a good day everyone!!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Review!

Time for another post! I haven't posted in a while but I need to now. The weather has not been so great so this puts me off wanting to take pictures, as the sun gives great light. When I got home from work today it was still light outside so I tried to get some quick snaps of these lip butters to show you all!

These are the new Revlon Lip Butters, or at least they are new in the UK, so get your hands on some because they are stunning. I got myself four of the shades, not all at once, I bought a couple and the consistency of them was so good, I decided to try and get a range of colours. In the U.K these retail for £8.99, however boots currently have an offer of £5.99, and superdrug have them on 3 for 2! (at £8.99)

I bought myself four shades from left to right, 055 Cupcake, 025 Peach Parfait, 015 Tutti Frutti, 005 Sugar Frosting. I would say the collection ranges to as strong as a lipstick, to a tinted lip balm as well as between the two. The shade 'Lollipop' has more of a lipstick coverage. However the shade Sugar Frosting is a clear pink shimmery shade.

Here we have the shade '055 Cupcake' this is a pink shade which doesn't have as much coverage as a matte pink lipstick would have, however it it slightly glossy and gives the lips a lovely hint of pink. It has a very light pink shine once applied to the lips.
This colour is called '025 Peach Parfait' this is a very natural looking colour for the lips, it gives them a slight sparkle of gold shimmer and light coverage. It''s the perfect shade for a everyday look as its very natural and will look good on my types of skin tones.
This is '005 Sugar Frosting' and it currently my go-to product for my lips, this has a very light coverage but feels great on the lips and looks great also. It has a hint of pink and shimmer. It's more like a tinted lip balm with a tad bit of shimmer in there. I like this as it works well with my light skin tone as well as giving a very natural look.
The last shade I have is called  '015 Tutti Frutti'  this has a decent amount of coverage and is something for those of you who are more daring. This is an orange colour with red undertones. As when I apply this is looks more of a Orangey Red, rather than a pure orange lipstick. This is my least favourite of mine as I find it doesn't suit my skin colour, but I know orange will suit other people and therefore if it does I would definitely go for this product as the texture it stunning.
Overall I would say these products are great and I can see myself purchasing them again in the future or maybe reaching out for some more colours. They have a great formula and easy application, feel great on the lips, and can create a great natural look. I would suggest you treat yourself to a colour you would like the most. That's all for now, have a great day everyone!

No7 Skin Illuminator Pink - Review

Two posts in one day today, because I wanted to do at least one review from the products that I have bought, so first off we have  No7 - Skin Illuminator. The only reason I bought this was beacause I had a £5 off voucher for the collection, which if you go to boots and spend over £5 you will get and will be able to treat yourself. The product alone is around £11 therefore I got this for £6 a much more reasonable price for this product.

So to start this is in the colour 'Pink' as that suits my skin more, however you can also get this product in 'Peach' so there is another option for those who want a more natural colour. My first impressions of this product were that is brightens up my face and gives me a shimmer to my cheeks or wherever I apply it. I was a but concerned as I didn't want it to make my skin look greasy, however I think it gives a great finish. I don't have much to compare this product to as I haven't tried similar products to this other than a powder highlighter which are also great!

This is how the product is applied, some may not like to have a brush, as this can gather to product as well as bacteria, but you can just pull the brush off and use the container as something to squeeze, or use a brush that you prefer. The product blends well and it not too obvious that you have this on, I normally apply this over my blush to give it a more shimmed look, however if you blush is already shimmery you may not need to apply this as well.

As you can see this is what it looks like applied to my arm, I have not blended this in, but you can see this parts that look slightly blended, my arms are a darker colour than my face so on my face it is not as clear as this and just lifts and highlight's the parts that I was the most. I mostly apply on my cheeks but you can add some to your T-zone if you think that would look nice, or suit you more.

Overall I like this product, although I would not pay £11 for it as it doesn't do a magical job for that price, in my opinion. £6 was a good price for me to pay as I feel that this is a better deal. So if you get a voucher, treat yourself and try this product out for yourself!
